New Chairman of Geological Survey & Mines Bureau Senarath Jayasundara assumes duties
Mr. Senarath Jayasundara, Attorney at law, assumed duties on 18th of April 2013 as the chairman of the GSMB followed by religious observances. A brief welcome ceramony was organized at the GSMB auditorium by the staff.
Our Mission
The mission of the GSMB is to provide geoscientific information, advice and services to the policy makers and the community and to promote and manage the mineral resources of the country for economic development while ensuring environmental sustainability. It regulates exploration, extraction, value addition, transportation and trading of minerals.
Our Vision
To be the premier national geoscience agency that generates and disseminates geoscientific information and regulates mining and processing of Sri Lanka’s mineral resources in the most sustainable manner.
